+ ABOUT +
I'm convinced these are the "birth pangs" described by Jesus. Read Matthew 24.
www.biblehub.com/esv/matthew/24.htm More of the prophecies are coming true by the day. At this point it's almost more of an end times Bingo card, than "prophecies". ... And what better way to showcase these birth pangs than the coronavirus, and many Christians' atrocious response to it? Even as I speak, there are believers putting themselves and the world at risk by ignoring warnings in the proud, boastful, self-indulgent name of "freedom". Next Sunday, there will be more churches holding in-person services and not practicing social distancing. Tomorrow, more Christians will get mad at me for telling them that global health matters more than temporary stress and inconvenience. Which Christian will give spew the next, "F**K YOU ASSHOLE"? (That's a real message I got earlier by the way!) Which Christian will mock next by accusing detractors of being "soft", "wimpy", "brainless", or something even worse? The worst part is, I'm hardly, if at all, any better than the people I'm criticizing, because although my mistakes aren't the *same* as theirs, these mistakes are equal in severity - I have allowed myself to fall severely into "wrath", responding to criticism in a way that goes far past the line of "righteous anger" permitted to us. So yes, this is directed toward myself as much as all the others. We are the "once-mighty horde" referenced in the song title.
The first part of the track represents the birth pangs. Dark, but not exceedingly so. At 7:16*, the track becomes much darker and warped/distorted. This represents the coming end times - the time when the devil will be able to work most directly on earth. This is when the mark of the beast will be instituted, when angels will be sounding trumpets and pouring God's wrath, etc. After this point (a little before 9:00, no significance behind that time, it just worked well) the track has a few minutes of unedited noise. No distortion, no pitch changes, etc. This showcases our chance to turn anew to God, and repent from our actions before it's too late, and ends with a call from our loving Father, to repent from our actions, because yes, Hell is real, and God WILL send many people there, but it's not something He wants to do. He prefers that we live, that we can spend eternity with Him in the safety of His kingdom. This is also why the lighting/colors are different on the middle-right part of the cover artwork. It's just a way of showing a reprieve from the "darkness".
* Originally the "7:16" thing was supposed to be "6:66" but then I realized that would be "7:06" instead. But I'm too lazy to fix it.
